Recently, Google announced a new open source project called ‘OMNITONE’. This open source project brings us new meaning to ‘surround sound’. For this project, Google thinks it is ”a key element for an immersive virtual reality experience”. It is the spatial audio with exactly placed sound in 3D space.
HTC Vive is a VR device currently co-developed by HTC and Valve, and these two company will continue to collaborate on developing its second generation. Recently, Alan Yates, an engineer from Valve, posted a status on Reddit, claiming that the VR team composes 1/3 of the company with its core members developing the next generation VR devices.
